Ukraine Submits Peace Proposals to U.S. Negotiators Amid Russia War

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Kyiv has sent a collection of peace proposals to U.S.negotiators, detailing a possible structure for ending the war with Russia.

In a media statement, President Zelensky confirmed that the proposals had been sent to Washington, highlighting the importance of American diplomatic and military support in changing Moscow's approach:

“We have shared our proposals with the American side.

The United States can assist in reinforcing our defenses, especially in air defense, and apply pressure on Russia so that its plans shift — from continuing the war to preparing for an end to the conflict.”

Although the exact contents of the proposals have not been made public, this diplomatic effort follows the expected visit to both Ukraine and Russia by U.S.

representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

The American diplomats previously met in Moscow in January but have not yet visited Kyiv.

In addition to the diplomatic efforts, Zelensky warned that Russian officials might use upcoming parliamentary elections as a reason to announce another large-scale military mobilization to keep the war going.

Peace negotiations have mostly come to a standstill amid broader global conflicts, even though Ukraine continues to demand a ceasefire after nearly four and a half years of hostilities.

Russia insists that any final agreement must require Ukraine to fully withdraw from four disputed areas and address what the Kremlin views as the underlying causes of the conflict.
