Osun Decides: Senator Fadahunsi Clarifies Controversial Remark on Accord Party Members and Voting Strategy

Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents the Osun East Senatorial District, has explained his controversial statement about the "Kill Accord," clarifying that it was a political metaphor meant to encourage supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to defeat the Accord Party in the upcoming election.

On Monday, a video circulated online showing Fadahunsi speaking in Yoruba.

In the video, he accused members of the Accord Party of attacking APC supporters and urged people at a gathering in Ilesa to take action against those from the Accord Party.

He was also seen asking those present to record him and share the videos on social media.

In his remarks, he said, “The cap they wear – it is a Yellow Fever cap, it is the cap of an animal.It is an animal that kills.Have you ever heard that APC killed anyone?Are those being killed not your people?So, we have come to tell you, up till the day of the election, if we see them, it is killing.”

Fadahunsi made these comments to APC supporters in Ilesa ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election.

His statement caused widespread anger online, with many, including Governor Adeleke, calling for his arrest.

However, in an interview with Channels TV on Monday, August 11, Fadahunsi said his remarks were taken out of context.

He explained that he was urging his supporters to "kill" the Accord Party through their votes, not in a literal or violent sense.
