Man Beaten to Death in Lagos Over Missing Phone

A man known as Azeez is said to have died after being attacked by individuals suspected to be members of a cult during a dispute over a missing mobile phone in the Oko-Oba area of Agege, Lagos State.

The incident took place on Monday, August 3, following an argument between Azeez and some of his associates over a missing phone after a party.

The disagreement turned physical as some of the suspected cult members, who were reportedly his friends, attacked Azeez.

He suffered injuries during the attack and later died.

An anti-cultism organization called Naija Confra gave a detailed description of the events in a post published on Saturday, August 8.

They stated that the conflict began during a birthday party on Sunday night, August 2.

Naija Confra said that a fight broke out at the gathering and that a man named Abela allegedly picked up a phone and gave it to Azeez.

According to the account, the phone's owner later discovered it was missing and began searching for it.

When the phone was finally found with Azeez, he reportedly told the owner that Abela had given it to him for safekeeping.

Naija Confra claimed that Abela denied giving the phone to Azeez, even though witnesses allegedly saw him do so.

The platform also said that the phone's owner and some of his associates later attacked Azeez before leaving the venue, as they were unable to confront Abela.

It was added that Azeez later confronted Abela about the denial, which led to another confrontation that reportedly turned into another attack.

According to Naija Confra, Azeez was then taken to another place by suspected members of a cult group, where he was allegedly attacked again.

Azeez eventually died from the injuries he suffered during the assault.
