One person lost their life and two others were hurt when suspected bandits attacked Makoda town in the Makoda Local Government Area of Kano State.
This information was shared on X by security analyst Bakatsine on Friday.
He stated that the attack took place on Thursday evening when over 30 armed individuals on motorcycles entered the community and fired multiple rounds, prompting residents to seek shelter.
Bakatsine reported that the attackers killed one person, injured two others, and fled with an unknown amount of money.
Residents described the attackers as well-armed and mentioned that the event caused fear in the community before the attackers disappeared.
“Last night, suspected bandits targeted Makoda town in Makoda LGA, Kano State, resulting in one death, two injuries, and the alleged theft of an undisclosed sum of cash,” Bakatsine noted.
“Residents reported that more than 30 heavily armed men arrived on motorcycles, fired randomly, and left the community in chaos before escaping.
If armed groups can attack communities in Kano with such ease, what does that imply about the nation’s capacity to stop insecurity from growing further?” Bakatsine added.
