Men of the Lagos state police command have arrested four suspects over their contended possession and trade of mortal body corridor in Lagos. The suspects progressed 34, 44, 46 and 48 were restrained in March by investigators of Adeniji Adele Divisional Police Station.
The top suspect, a 46- time-old alleged supplier of the mortal corridor, was interdicted with suspected mortal body corridor during a stop- and- hunt operation on Bamgbose Street in the Lagos Island area.
A police source who verified the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria NAN, said the top suspect claimed he attained the de@d body at Adeniji Adele under ground.
“ He said that he searches for dead bodies and picks up abandoned human remains from colorful locales across the state, cut the body into pieces for trade. The suspect revealed that he sells the mortal corridor for N 10,000 to buyers who use them for ritual purposes. He also claimed to use the bodies to prepare black cleaner, which he sells to people seeking God’s mercy, good luck, favour, and other perceived spiritual benefits'' the police source said
The top suspect’s concession led to the apprehension of the other three suspects, who were linked as buyers in the illegal trade. The suspects, who admitted to copping mortal corridor and meat, said that the corridor were supplied through a network of individualities, with certain cohorts presently at large.
The state Commissioner of Police, Fatal Tijani, has ordered that the case be transferred from to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, for farther disquisition. The cadaver recovered from the top suspect had been deposited in a morgue
