Court sentences 18-year-old to death for the murder of a woman in Gombe

A Gombe State High Court sitting in Court No. 2 has doomed an 18- time-old, Mustapha Isah, to d3ath by hanging for the offence of reproachable homicide.

Isah, also known as Abbati, a occupant of Santana Street in the Jekadafari area of Gombe, was set up shamefaced of k!lling Aishatu Abdullahi, popularly known as Damori, aged 58.

TIB reported that the mama of 8 was k!lled on Friday, October 20, 2023.

The suspect was arrested alongside an abettor two days latterly.

Delivering judgment on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the presiding judge, Justice Abdulhamid- Mohammed Yakubu, held that the execution had proven its case beyond a reasonable mistrustfulness and established that the indicted designedly caused the d3ath of the victim.

" The substantiation before this court easily shows that the indicted person committed the offence of reproachable homicide punishable with death. The execution has successfully discharged the burden of evidence placed upon it by law, ” the judge ruled.

He accordingly doomed the con to d3ath by hanging in agreement with the vittles of the law.

According to court records, the incident passed on October 20, 2023, at about 900 p.m., when the con unlawfully entered the hearthstone of the departed.

The court heard that he attacked the victim with a cutter, inflicting fatal injuries that led to her d3ath.

Yakubu, while pronouncing the judgment , noted that the nature of the offence was grave and must be met with the full weight of the law to serve as a interference to others.

“ The saintship of mortal life must be defended. Any act that unlawfully takes life must be decisively
dealt with in line with the law, ” he added
