The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has saved an 84- time-old man from a well in Aboru community, Agbado- Okeodo Local Council Development Area of the state.
The Controller General of the agency, Margaret Adeseye, who verified the incident in a statement on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 said primary disquisition suggests the man tried su!cide by jumping into the 140ft deep well.
According to the statement, the agency entered a torture call at 1009 am concerning the incident and dispatched a deliverance crew to the scene.
" The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service entered a torture call at exactly 1009 hours concerning a deliverance incident at No. 35A, Fadeyemi Street, Pipeline, Aboru, Agbado Oke- Odo Local Council Development Area( LCDA), Lagos State," the statement read.
" Upon damage of the call, the Agency's Deliverance Crew alongside labor force from the Abesan Fire Station were incontinently dispatched to the scene and arrived at 1020 hours.
" The incident involved an 84- time-old manly grown-up who reportedly fell into a well estimated to be about 140 bases deep.
" primary compliances suggest a suspected case of tried su!cide, as the well was adequately defended and securely covered.
" The victim was successfully recovered by the deliverance platoon and latterly handed over to the family members for further necessary attention.
" The exact cause of the incident is subordinated to farther disquisition.
“ The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service reiterates its commitment to prompt exigency response and urges members of the public to seek help and report extremities through the applicable channels when in torture.
