Mosquito Coil Sparks Fire That Claims Lives of Father, Mother and Children in Kano Apartment

Four members of a family have di£ d in a fire outbreak at Kundila, Layin Baba insolvable in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State.

The incident, which passed around 413 am on Wednesday, Nov. 19, was verified in a statement issued by the Kano State Fire Service prophet, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi.

According to the agency, the exigency Response Unit entered a torture call from one of its staff members, HFS Abba Datti, waking them to the fire.

Firefighters from the headquarters were incontinently stationed to the scene.

Upon appearance, they set up a ground- bottom domestic structure measuring 40 by 30 bases fully gulfed in dears, believed to have been touched off by mosquito coil.

The fire affected two bedrooms, a parlour, a restroom and a kitchen.

Five persons were trapped in the structure. They include Shodandi, the father, 43; Rafi’a, the mama , 30; Mardiya Shodandi, 3 times; Yusira Shodandi, one and half times and Aminu Shodandi, 12 times.

The statement said four of the victims — the father, mama , and two youngish children were burnt to de@th before help could reach them.

still, the 12- time-old boy, Aminu, was saved.

The agency expressed condolences to the bereft family and advised residers to exercise lesser care, especially during the harmattan season when fire outbreaks are more frequent.
