Five police officers were tragically killed and two others injured when a group of herdsmen ambushed a police tactical team in Bauchi State.
Bauchi State Police Command has verified the d3ath of five officers following an ambush by Fulani herders in Sabon Sara vill, Darazo Local Government Area of the state.
The prophet of the command, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, who bared this in a statement on Sunday, November 23, 2025 said several of the bushwhackers were neutralised during the ambush.
According to Wakil, the incident passed on November 22, when combined police politic units, acting on intelligence, embarked on a visibility command to help and manage planter – herdsman conflict around the Sabon Sara axis.
The PPRO said a torture report from a Good Samaritan before advised the Command that labor force from the Rapid Response Squad; 10 PMF, Bauchi; theAnti-Kidnapping Unit; and the State Intelligence Department had been ambuscaded by unidentified Fulani youths during the operation
“ Five officers paid the supreme price, two were injured, while a certain number of bandits were neutralised in Sabon Sara vill, Darazo LGA, Bauchi State, ” the statement read.

" On 22nd November, 2025 at about 1240 hrs, an intelligence at the command disposal from a Good Samaritan telling that on the same day at about 1130 hrs, a platoon of Tactical Team labor force comprising Rapid Response Squad( RRS), Mobile Police 10PMF Bauchi,Anti-Kidnapping Unit( AKU), and State Intelligence Department( SID) were ambuscaded by unidentified Fulani youths, while on visibility policing command to help, alleviate and manage planter – herdsman conflict within and around Sabon Sara Village via Darazo.

" Upon entering the report, the Divisional Police Officer( DPO), SP Auwalu Ilu, led a platoon of mounts to the scene, saved and vacated both the injured and deceased labor force to the general sanitarium in Darazo for medical treatment, and deposited the remains at the morgue.
