Scottish Teacher Banned After Students Discover Her Explicit OnlyFans Account

A physics teacher at Bannerman High School in Glasgow has been struck off by the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) after students discovered her explicit content on the adult subscription platform OnlyFans.

Kirsty Buchan, 34, who used the alias "Jessica Jackrabbit x," reportedly created the account to earn additional income after a drop in her teaching salary. However, the page—which included sexually explicit images—was publicly accessible, allowing students at the school to view it.

The situation came to light in November 2022 when pupils from senior classes (S5 and S6) approached headteacher Seonaidh Black with the discovery. Black described the students as “excited” and noted the incident quickly became widespread among both staff and students. “It was the talk of the school gates,” she told the disciplinary panel.

One deputy headteacher had been shown the content by students shortly before the end of the school day. A concerned parent also reported that her son had interacted with Buchan’s profile.

Buchan, a former pupil of the same school, resigned in December 2022, with her employment officially ending in January 2023. She did not attend the GTCS disciplinary hearing and did not submit any representation.

According to investigators, Buchan’s profile featured a bio stating she was a “good teacher gone bad ... really bad,” and made references to her profession, potentially breaching ethical boundaries. GTCS presenter Gary Burton said her actions represented a “significant blurring of boundaries” between her private and professional life.

“She used her profession as a selling tool and failed to act as a role model,” Burton added. “Her behaviour is fundamentally incompatible with being a registered teacher.”

The GTCS panel found that Buchan’s conduct brought the teaching profession into disrepute, citing a lack of integrity and failure to safeguard the public from accessing adult content associated with her role as a teacher. They ruled her unfit to teach.

Ms. Black acknowledged that while Buchan had shown enthusiasm for teaching, she had expressed previous concerns about the teacher's judgement, especially regarding the accessibility of her social media.

Since the incident, discussions about online safety have been held with students, and the headteacher noted the scandal has left a lasting mark on the school’s reputation.
