Mosayebi was accused of attempting to transmit “sensitive information” to the Israeli spy service. He was hanged after completing all legal procedures, including a final ruling from Iran’s Supreme Court. The judiciary’s Mizan Online platform confirmed:
“Majid Mosayebi… was hanged this morning after going through the full process of criminal procedure and after his sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court.”
The timeline and circumstances surrounding Mosayebi's arrest have not been disclosed.
Separately, Iranian police in Qom Province announced the arrest of 22 individuals on Saturday for alleged connections to Israeli intelligence networks. According to the semi-official Fars News Agency, the suspects were accused of links to the “Zionist regime’s spy services,” spreading misinformation, and supporting Israel.
Further arrests took place on Sunday in Kermanshah Province, where judiciary spokesperson Asghar Jahangir confirmed the detention of three individuals suspected of espionage, one of whom reportedly holds European citizenship.
Jahangir credited the public’s cooperation with aiding law enforcement and intelligence agencies in making the arrests. He also announced that special judicial branches would be established in provincial prosecutors’ offices and courts to handle espionage-related cases under “extraordinary” procedures.
