FCT GROUND RENT: PRESIDENT TINUBU INTERVENES, DEFAULTERS GET 14 DAYS TO PAY
Today, May 26, 2025, we began enforcement at the 4,794 homes revoked for non-price of Ground Rent, from 10 to forty three years.
Properties owned through authorities institutions, company enterprises and people have been affected. This demonstrates the Federal Capital Territory Administration`s dedication to sporting out its capabilities with out worry or favour.
However, the President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has intervened. Therefore, through Mr. President`s intervention, holders of the affected homes now have 14 days (TWO WEEKS) to settle the fantastic Ground Rents, with related penalties.
For homes withinside the Central Area, the sum of N5 million can be paid through the defaulters as penalty, similarly to the Ground Rent owed.
Those in Maitama, Asokoro, Wuse II, and Guzape Districts can pay the sum of N3 million as penalty, similarly to the Ground Rent owed.
Defaulters in Wuse I, Garki I and Garki II can pay N2 million as penalty similarly to the Ground Rent owed.
Also, all folks who bought homes from different people, however are but to sign up their hobbies through acquiring the required Minister`s Consent and registering their Deeds of Assignment now have 14 days (TWO WEEKS) to achieve this on the FCT Department of Land Administration.
Furthermore, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, has granted a 14 days (TWO WEEKS) grace length to all belongings holders withinside the FCT to pay up their Right of Occupancy (R-of-O)/Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) payments, or danger revocation of these titles.
