I paid N16 million for Mohbad`s 2nd autopsy – Singer`s father claims

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has revealed that he paid ₦16 million for a second autopsy conducted on his son.

Speaking during a TikTok live session, Aloba insisted he made the payment directly to a pathologist, refuting reports that the amount was ₦12 million.

“With all sincerity, I paid the first tranche of ₦16 million to the pathologist. After that, I spent close to ₦2 million,” he said. “So, if the pathologist can come out to deny my claim, then don’t believe me again.”

His comments come one month after a forensic medical review and independent autopsy conducted by Dr. Uwom Eze failed to determine the actual cause of Mohbad’s death.

The second autopsy was authorized in June 2024, after a Coroner’s Court sitting in Ikorodu, Lagos State, granted permission for the family to engage a licensed pathologist for further examination.

Mohbad died under controversial circumstances in September 2023, sparking widespread public concern and calls for a thorough investigation into the cause of his death.
