Tragedy Strikes Zamfara School: Fire Claims 17 Young Lives


A devastating fire outbreak at a Tsangaya school in Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State has resulted in the tragic loss of 17 children's lives.

The incident occurred at Mallam Ghali Tsangaya School, where a study hall caught fire, injuring at least 16 other pupils.

According to residents, the fire started late Tuesday night and raged for approximately four hours. The severity of the fire was exacerbated by the presence of corn and millet stalks stored on the school premises.

A resident, Abdul Razak Bello, described the horrific scene, stating that the bodies of the victims were burnt beyond recognition. The 17 recovered bodies were buried on Wednesday.

The chairperson of Kaura-Namoda Local Government, Mannir Haidara, confirmed the incident, promising to provide further details later.
