Syrian authorities have arrested three men suspected of involvement in the infamous Tadamon massacre, which occurred in 2013 during the Syrian civil war.
The massacre, which was documented by regime forces, resulted in the deaths of nearly 300 people, including 12 children.
The three men arrested were identified as Monzer al-Jazairi, Somer Mohammed al-Mahmoud, and Imad Mohammed al-Mahmoud.
Al-Jazairi, who was shown in footage with his hands bound, claimed that the actual death toll was higher than initially reported.
The Tadamon massacre was a brutal incident in which Syrian military intelligence and pro-Assad militiamen killed civilians, burned their bodies, and buried them using a bulldozer.
The incident was widely condemned, and the US government imposed sanctions on Amjad Yousef, a Syrian military intelligence official who was implicated in the massacre.
Syria's new transitional government has been working to hold accountable those responsible for the massacre and other human rights abuses committed during the civil war.
The government has been conducting raids and arrests, including the arrest of Yousef's superior, Salih al-Ras.
