A huge fire broke out at St Athan Primary School in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, prompting the evacuation of approximately 240 pupils, staff, and contractors. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The fire, which started in the school's roof, caused severe damage and was contained to the ICT suite by emergency crews.
Five fire engines, two water bowsers, and specialist officers responded to the incident.
Vale of Glamorgan council leader Rob Thomas praised the school staff and emergency responders for their swift and professional actions, which prevented a tragic outcome.
The school will remain closed for the rest of the week, and local authorities are working to establish the cause of the fire.
