A devastating car crash in Colchester has claimed the lives of four people after a vehicle collided with a building. Essex Police responded to the incident on Magdalen Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The force confirmed that four people died at the scene, but their identities have not been released pending further investigation.
Police have established a cordon and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Temporary Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the victims, thanking local businesses and residents for their cooperation during the investigation.
Police are now appealing for witnesses, CCTV, dashcam, or other footage that may aid the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Essex Police via 101, quoting incident number 179 of 1 February.
