Fatal Crash in Cookstown Leaves One Dead, Three Seriously Injured


A woman has died following a two-vehicle collision in County Tyrone on Thursday evening, and three others, including a child, have been hospitalized with serious injuries.

The crash occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on February 20th on the Old Loughrey Road in Cookstown, involving a Ford Ka and a Nissan Note.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) dispatched multiple resources to the scene, including paramedics, emergency crews, a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) crew, an ambulance officer, and the Charity Air Ambulance with a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) crew onboard.

The male drivers of both vehicles and a child who was a passenger in the Nissan were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed the fatality, stating that the woman, a passenger in the Ford Ka, died at the scene. They are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to contact the Collision Investigation Unit.
