A series of explosions occurred in three empty buses near Tel Aviv, Israel, on Thursday night, prompting authorities to investigate a suspected terror attack.
The blasts, which took place in the cities of Bat Yam and Holon, about 10km south of Tel Aviv, did not result in any casualties since the buses were parked and empty after completing their routes.
The first two explosions occurred within minutes of each other, around 8:30pm (18:30GMT), with the third blast happening about 15 minutes later.
Israeli police are investigating the incident, but no group has claimed responsibility. The Tulkarem Battalion, a fighting group based in the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarem, posted a statement on Telegram, but did not explicitly claim responsibility for the attack.
Israel's Shin Bet internal security agency has taken over the investigation, and Israeli cities have been put on high alert. The Public Transit Authority has been instructed to stop and check all buses, trains, and light rail trains.
Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered an escalation of military action in the occupied West Bank, specifically targeting the Tulkarem refugee camp.
The incident has raised concerns about the escalating tensions between Israel and Palestine, with Palestinians in the West Bank living in fear of further military action.
