A 36-year-old British businessman, Steven Paul McInally, has been sentenced to 25 years in an American federal prison.
McInally, the owner of a children's soft play center in Glasgow, was found guilty of transporting and possessing child sexual abuse material.¹
McInally's troubles began when he was stopped by border guards at Orlando International Airport in August 2023. Upon ordering him to unlock his iPhone, authorities discovered over 3,900 images and 70 videos of children, including some taken during a sleepover party at his home.
The investigation led to searches of McInally's soft play center, Go Wild, and his home. Police Scotland reported him to the Procurator Fiscal for offenses under the Sexual Offences Scotland Act 2009.
McInally's case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a US Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse.
The project involves federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children.
