Two women, 24 and 38, stabbed to death at home on Christmas Day with teen and man rushed to hospital

A man has been arrested on suspicion of double murder after reports of a fatal stabbing on Christmas Day.

Officers were first called to a block of apartments in Santa Cruz Avenue, Bletchley around 6.36pm yesterday - with forensic teams spotted near the address with Thames Valley police having cordoned off the quiet residential street.

The two women died at the scene, while the man and teenage boy are in a stable condition in hospital. A dog also injured in the incident was taken to vets but did not survive.

Neighbours had described what they believed to be blood splattered on the front door of the Milton Keynes home. One neighbour told the Sun: "It's mortifying.

"I heard all the ambulances last night but you don't expect anything like this to happen around here. And on Christmas day of all days."

Meanwhile another neighbour said emergency workers were treating someone in the street following the horror incident, explaining: "[Paramedics] were working on him in the street. And the other [victims] were covered in a white tarp."

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “Firstly I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the families of the women who have tragically died in this shocking incident.

“We have launched a double murder investigation which may be concerning to the wider public, however we have made an arrest and are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident and the parties are known to each other.

“Members of the public will see a large police presence in the area while our investigation takes place. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to approach our officers and they will do their best to help.”
