Three killed, property worth N132.4m destroyed by fire in November – Kano official

The Kano State fire service has disclosed that three persons were killed while properties estimated at over N132,450,000 were destroyed in different fire incidents that occurred in November in the State.

In a statement on Wednesday, the spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, also said it rescued not fewer than three persons and recorded 43 fire calls within the month under review.

According to him, the fire service personnel also saved properties estimated at the cost of N310,600,000, received six false alarms and five Rescue calls. Overall, and also received emergency calls from its 29 fire stations spread across the state.

As an advice, Abdullahi stated: “I will use this opportunity to draw the attention of the general public to handle fire with care to avoid fire incidences, most especially during the current harmattan season.

“All motorists must drive with care, as well as abide by the traffic laws, especially when travelling for the Christmas holiday to avoid road accidents.”
