Retail outlet owners under the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) have commenced registration with MRS filling stations to acquire Dangote petrol at N935 per litre.
According to PETROAN President, the association’s members are collaborating with MRS to access products, as Dangote and Port Harcourt (PH) refineries are yet to begin direct product distribution.
He said, “From today (Monday), we expect a seamless distribution process to facilitate price reductions at retail outlets nationwide.
“The Dangote pricing model brings value to our members, and partnering with MRS allows us to sell at N935 per litre nationwide. MRS has opened its doors to accommodate as many members as possible, and we began member registrations on Sunday morning. This is a positive step, and we hope the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) will also support this initiative.”
He noted that while they await products from the Dangote and Port Harcourt refineries, some members have already lowered fuel prices in Abuja.
He further outlined plans to assess the logistics and distribution framework across the country to determine potential cost reductions, noting that Nigerians will benefit when refiners lower prices and "we can purchase directly". That according to him, is the core focus of PETROAN.
“Price reductions won’t be static, but the trajectory is clear. Armchair projections do not reflect the complexities of the market,” he concluded.
Reiterating the association’s commitment to affordable pricing, he assured that fuel prices would gradually decline, though with some fluctuations.
