Oyo government announced the commencement of operations at Ibadan hybrid power project

The Oyo State Government has announced the taken off of the 11 megawatts Ibadan hybrid power project recently commissioned by Governor, Seyi Makinde.

According to the Commissioner for Information and Orientation in the state, Dotun Oyelade, the Oyo State Secretariat and its environs, comprising all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), including the Secretariat Clinic, the House of Assembly and the Governor’s Office, have started experiencing uninterrupted power supply.

In a statement made available to journalists, Oyelade noted that the development is in fulfilment of the promise Governor Makinde made to commence the power independence for the state.

The commissioner also stated that while the first phase of the project was a five-megawatts integrated power plant, consisting of solar power and natural gas, the next phase would extend to other critical arms of government.
