A few hours after the experience with the national electricity grid collapse on Monday evening, Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IKEDC) has announced that it has experienced another system failure that has disrupted the supply within its power distribution network.
IKEDC noted in a statement posted on its announcement was made on its official X account on Tuesday that efforts to restore the power supply are currently ongoing, in partnership with their critical stakeholders.
The statement read: “Dear esteemed customer, Please be informed that we experienced another system outage today, 15/10/2024, @09:17hrs, affecting supply within our network.
“Restoration of supply is ongoing in collaboration with our critical stakeholders. Kindly bear with us.”
Nigerians were left in total darkness on Monday as a result of the initial national grid collapsed at about 6:18 pm, with checks confirming that power generation dropped from 3.87 gigawatts at 5 pm to 3.56GW at 6 pm and 0.00GW at 7 pm and 8 pm.
